Peter Schenk

Peter Schenk the Elder (Petrus Schenck, 1660–1711) was a German-born engraver, mapmaker, and publisher active in Amsterdam and Leipzig in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. He created detailed maps, city views, and globes that followed and advanced the Dutch Golden Age cartographic tradition. Schenk trained under Gerard Valck and later ran his own publishing business, producing decorative and scientific maps that collectors still seek for their artistry and historical value.
