Deze gravure van Boston King Street, getiteld \u201cProspect der K\u00f6nig Strasse gegen das Land Thor zu Boston = Vue de la Rue du Roi vers la porte de la Campagne \u00e0 Boston,\u201d<\/em> is een prachtig stadsgezicht uit de 18e eeuw. De prent, ook bekend als \u201cVue de Boston,\u201d<\/em> werd gemaakt door Fran\u00e7ois Xav. Habermann. Hij publiceerde het rond 1760 in Augsburg als onderdeel van zijn bekende Collection des Prospects<\/em>De prent is een prachtig met de hand ingekleurde optische gravure. Hij is ontworpen om door een zograscoop te worden bekeken, waardoor een sterk gevoel van diepte ontstaat.<\/p>\n

De gravure meet 26 \u00d7 40 cm en is in zeer goede staat. Heldere kleuren en een sterk perspectief brengen de drukke sc\u00e8ne van King Street in Boston tot leven. Het uitzicht toont gebouwen, figuren en verre ori\u00ebntatiepunten in duidelijk detail.<\/p>\n

Verzamelaars van antieke prenten en vroege Amerikaanse drukwerken hechten veel waarde aan deze gravure van Boston King Street. Ze geeft de energie van het koloniale Boston weer en weerspiegelt het hoge niveau van vakmanschap dat kenmerkend was voor de 18e-eeuwse grafische kunst in Augsburg.<\/p>\n
