De dynamische sc\u00e8ne benadrukt de kracht en het doel van Nederlandse werkschepen die werden gebruikt voor handel en transport.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"632\" data-end=\"990\">Adolf van der Laan graveerde deze prent naar een ontwerp van Sieuwert van der Meulen. De prent werd rond 1750 gepubliceerd als onderdeel van een serie van zestien maritieme prenten. Dit exemplaar is nummer 12 uit de serie. Sterke lijnen en zorgvuldige schaduwpartijen geven het schip een krachtig en realistisch uiterlijk. De compositie geeft de beweging van de zee en het schip op zeer vakkundige wijze weer.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"992\" data-end=\"1232\">De afbeelding meet 15 \u00d7 19 cm en is in zeer goede staat. De afdruk is krachtig en scherp en het papier is nog steeds schoon.
