Frans Hogenberg and Simon Novellanus engraved the scenes, depicting Calicut in South West India, Ormuz on the Straits of Hormuz, Kannur in Kerala, and Elmina in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">Each view illustrates major Portuguese trading posts of the 16th century. Busy ports, ships, and coastal fortifications capture the energy of early global trade. The map includes Latin text on the verso and is identified as a first\u2011state print.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">The sheet measures 31.5 x 46.5 cm and is in very good condition. Fine colouring and clear lines highlight the mastery of Braun and Hogenberg\u2019s early world views.
