De prent werd op 1 februari 1795 in Londen uitgegeven door Samuel Ireland en geeft een levendig, gedetailleerd beeld van de Nederlandse waterwegen. De met de hand ingekleurde aquatint meet 10 bij 15,5 cm en is in zeer goede staat, met enkele kleine vlekjes buiten de afbeelding.<\/p>\n<p>Samuel Ireland was een Britse kunstenaar die bekend stond om zijn aquatints en landschapsprenten van Europese taferelen. Dit werk weerspiegelt het 18e-eeuwse Nederlandse leven en het belang van grachten voor transport en handel. Het trekt verzamelaars en kunstliefhebbers aan die ge\u00efnteresseerd zijn in historische prenten en Nederlands erfgoed. De levendige kleuren en fijne details maken het een opvallend voorbeeld van aquatinttechnieken uit die periode.
